Meet Elena Kariam
Hi there! My name is Elena, and it's nice to meet you. I am a Registered Social Worker with nearly ten years of experience in social work practice.

I have worked with children and families for several years, helping them navigate challenges related to drug addiction, domestic violence and unhealthy relationships, caregiving skills, mental illness, parent-youth conflict, and the loss of a child. Through these experiences, I have developed a set of tools to support these populations as they face their unique challenges.
As a mother of two young children, I understand both the joys and the challenges that come with parenthood. I learned that it's important to be gentle with yourself and to know that hard times will pass. I have personally experienced the postpartum journey while simultaneously managing the stress of my child being hospitalized. From that experience, I realized how vital it is to lean on available supports and not neglect self-care, even when it's difficult.

My professional and personal experiences have fueled my passion for working with children and youth. I can support your child if they are experiencing mental health challenges, particularly anxiety and stress. Additionally, I offer support to new mothers facing postpartum challenges and help parents manage their child's difficult behaviors.

In my practice, I use an integrative approach. I am passionate about mindfulness and view health and well-being through a holistic lens. I strongly believe in the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit, and I prioritize caring for all these areas. I will support you using an anti-oppressive, strength-based, and holistic approach. Since each person is unique, I recognize that what works for one may not work for another. If appropriate, I also incorporate creative outlets to help you express yourself. Do you enjoy working with your hands? Great! We can build with clay. Do you like puzzles? Perfect, so do I! Let’s tackle one together.

Outside of therapy, you can find me spending time with my family, enjoying a good book, practicing French, or starting a new crochet project.
I value your time and trust, and I look forward to developing a meaningful relationship with you.
