Meet  Elena Kariam

My name is Elena, and have nearly a decade of experience supporting individuals and families across Ontario. My work has been shaped through roles in child welfare & education systems, community-based non-profit organizations, and private practice—each offering invaluable insight into the diverse challenges people face and the strengths they carry.

As a therapist and mother, my lived experiences deeply inform my approach. I understand the profound joy, uncertainty, and emotional complexity that come with parenthood, and I know how essential self-compassion becomes in moments that feel overwhelming. These experiences help me show up with authenticity and empathy, meeting clients exactly where they are.

I also recognize how vulnerable it can feel to share your personal story. My priority is to create a safe, nonjudgmental, and grounding space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. I value the trust you place in me and strive to build a meaningful, collaborative therapeutic relationship rooted in connection and care.

My practice is integrative and holistic. I draw on mindfulness, anti-oppressive and strength-based frameworks, and an understanding of the deep interconnectedness between mind, body, and spirit. I believe that healing is not one-size-fits-all, and I tailor my approach to honour each client’s unique experiences, needs, and ways of processing. When helpful, I also incorporate creative therapeutic outlets—such as art-based strategies—to support expression and insight.

I support clients navigating a range of concerns, including anxiety and stress, postpartum and parenting challenges, behavioural management, hoarding behaviours, emotional regulation, and building self-compassion and resilience. My goal is to help individuals and families develop practical tools, deepen their self-awareness, and create meaningful shifts that support long-term wellbeing.

I look forward to meeting you, learning your story, and supporting you as you move toward greater clarity, balance, and wellbeing.
