Must Reads...

Relationship:

By John Kim

This is a book written by a man, John Kim for men, but it extends itself beyond men and likely beneficial for both men and women to read. John Kim prides himself on a casual approach to clinical therapy/coaching and highlights that he provides "self-help in a shot-glass". This book is essentially all of that and more.

If you are newly divorced, never married, or still relatively content in a committed relationship, this book still offers relevancy to everyone, regardless of the relationship status you may identify with. It is an easy read, offering guidance and depth in a manner that is relatable.

Relationship/Marriage:

By John Gottman, PhD; Julie Schwartz Gottman, PhD; Doug Abrams & Rachel Charlton Abrams, MD.

This book is an essential read for anyone in a relationship or someone who is preparing to re-enter the dating scene or just starting out. It is also a book that can help couples revolutionize their union, prior to any contemplation of separation and/or divorce.

Dr. John Gottman and Dr. Julie Schwartz Gottman are world-renowned for their study and knowledge in the dynamics of healthy and functioning relationships and most importantly, what it takes to make them last.

This is a unique read as it sets the stage for eight (8) specific dates for coupes to go on, whether you're a newer couple, a couple on the verge of the seven (7) year itch, at your breaking point or just looking to re-invigorate your relationship, these are eight essential dates to journey through together.

The dates will require conversation, engagement, and interaction, but the book helps to set a framework and offers you guidance around having effective conversations regarding sex, money, communication, and even play, all of the ingredients (and more in the book) needed to foster a better relationship.
