We’re so happy to share some exciting news with our community—please join us in welcoming our newest team member, Minerva Acevedo, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) to Co & Associates. Minerva’s work is focused primarily on supporting couples, and she also works with individuals who are looking for a calm, grounded space to better understand what they’re carrying and where they want to go next.
At Co & Associates, we believe meaningful therapy happens when people feel respected, understood, and not judged. Minerva brings exactly that kind of presence—warm, thoughtful, and steady—and we’re genuinely thrilled to have her on our team.
A calm, respectful space for individuals and couples
Minerva supports individuals and couples who want a space to slow down, reflect, and make sense of their experiences with more clarity and compassion. Her approach is shaped by something many clients deeply relate to: the tension between “keeping it together” on the outside and feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, or uncertain on the inside.
Her clinical work is also deeply informed by her years in senior corporate roles, and by the personal process of pausing, reflecting, and reconnecting with what truly matters. That journey—rooted in honesty, courage, and alignment with personal values—informs how she shows up in the therapy room: with empathy, presence, and without judgment.
Therapy approaches: values, clarity, and meaningful change
Minverva draws on evidence-based approaches, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and mindfulness-informed practices. In sessions, you can expect a collaborative focus on:
Building clarity about what’s happening and what’s needed
Strengthening emotional awareness
Taking meaningful steps that align with your values and goals
This style of therapy can be especially helpful when you’re tired of looping in the same patterns and want something practical, compassionate, and rooted in the life you actually want to build.
Support for individuals: common areas of focus
With individuals, Minerva commonly supports concerns such as:
Anxiety
Self-worth and self-trust
Relationship stress
Family-of-origin patterns
Major life transitions
If you’ve been feeling stretched thin, stuck in overthinking, or unsure how to navigate a transition or relationship dynamic, Minerva offers a steady, supportive space to explore what’s going on beneath the surface—and what “moving forward” could look like in a way that fits you.
Couples therapy: deepening connection and building healthier patterns
Minerva is especially passionate about helping couples:
Deepen connection
Understand relational dynamics
Work collaboratively toward shared intentions and future goals
Explore what each partner needs
Clarify commitment
Create healthier patterns that support the relationship you want to build
Couples therapy isn’t only for relationships in crisis. Many partners come in because they care about the relationship and want support in communicating more clearly, repairing after conflict, and building something more secure and connected—together.
Grounded in professionalism, cultural humility, and ongoing learning
Minerva’s practice is rooted in professionalism, cultural humility, and a commitment to ongoing learning. Her goal is to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe, warm, and effective, where you feel genuinely understood and supported as you move toward meaningful change.
As Minerva shares: “It would be an honour to walk alongside you on your journey.”
